I'm trying to ditch this friend?

Well this person i thought was a good person and true friend material has lately been a schmuck, asking to lend money, then not paying it back but buying other crap. Then telling ppl about how I let my friend (joe) know that our other friend (jim) had sex with this girl he's been in love with for like 6 years and neither the girl or the jim had the guts to tell joe so i did. So then thomas (the person im ditching) tells the girl that i let Joe know what happened. So i've just been ignoring thomas but all of us are a group of friends. What to do?
